LFA Student Jinkyung Song Gains Recognition for Short Films

London Film Academy student Jinkyung Song is gaining international recognition as a talented writer and director. Her latest films, ‘Small Talks’ and ‘Evergreen’, created with the support of an exceptional LFA crew of fellow students, have made a significant impact on the global festival circuit.

'Small Talks' Earns Official Selections 

Jinkyung’s LFA Supershort film ‘Small Talks’, shot on an ARRI Flex 416 using Super 16mm film, has been selected for three major international festivals: 

  • Super Shorts 

  • 3 Minute Film Festival 

  • AZYL SHORTS – International Short Film Festival (Semi-Finalist) 

The film stars Mackenzie Larsen and Alexander Lewarne, following Kate as she unexpectedly reconnects with her ex-boyfriend John after her movie premiere. Their casual conversation takes an unexpected turn.

Success with 'Evergreen' 

Jinkyung’s personal project ‘Evergreen’ has also attracted attention, winning ‘Best Indie Short Film’ at the Rome Indie Film Festival.  

‘Evergreen’ follows Eugene, as they reminisce about skipping school to spend a day in the park with their best friend Joan ten years ago. At 18, she plans another special day together, filled with small talk and shared moments. But in the end Eugene struggles to confess something to Joan. 

It has been selected for the Yeosu International Webfest in Korea, with upcoming appearances at The Cecil County Independent Film Festival and The Chico Independent Film Festival
