Facilities

London Film Academy offers facilities designed for filmmakers, including professional sets, editing suites, a cinema with 4K projection, and industry-standard sound and camera equipment. Students have access to classrooms, a library, and a student lounge to support both learning and relaxation. The environment encourages creativity with resources for screenwriting, set design, and hands-on filmmaking.

Once a church, our beautiful premises is now home to film worshippers like you. When you’re not filming in one of our two studios or watching the first cut of your latest project in our onsite cinema, you’ll be able to enjoy the artisanal restaurants, bars, cinemas and green spaces...

Cinema

Our cinema boasts a Sony 4K digital projector and Cambridge Audio 7.1 Surround Sound with Subwoofer. You’ll screen your graduation film here, as well as attend regular film screenings and masterclasses with industry professionals.

JW Studio

Our JW Studio is named after our beloved past tutor and world-renowned camera and steadicam operator John Ward (‘The Fifth Element’, ‘Full Metal Jacket’). The studio is situated at the top of the premises where you’ll use it for workshops, film shoots and as a place to let your set design skills thrive with our stage sets and selection of props. 

Classrooms

Our classrooms are equipped with video, DVD and computer playback through TVs and/or projectors, providing you with the best learning environment for lessons ranging from screenwriting to producing and more. 

Kubrick Studio

Named after the legendary director you’ll be sure to take a ‘Shining’ to our Kubrick Studio. Here you can hone your practical filmmaking skills and take the next steps to getting a studio named after you one day!

Editing Suites

Our three editing suites house 27-inch iMacs with Retina 5K resolution. We also have a dedicated grading suite including a sound-recording booth for vocals and foley. All editing suites are equipped with Adobe Premiere Pro, AVID Media Composer and Final Cut Pro.

Cameras

LFA currently have Super 16mm ARRI SR3 and 416 camera kits including Zeiss Distagons; an ARRI Alexa kit with Zeiss CP2 Lenses and a Sony FS7. We have a wide range of grip gear, including Ronford 4, Cartoni and O’Connor 2065 heads.

Lighting and Mounts

We own an exhaustive range of ARRI Fresnel lights, ranging from 300W to 2000W, F&V LED Panels and Kinoflo lights. LFA also have an Egripment Slider and flat bed dolly along with a wide selection of Black Flags, nets and other grip gear.

Sound

We have a range of industry standard sound equipment including SoundDevice 664 and 633 mixers, Sennheiser 8050s, Sennheiser MKH 416s and Micron Series 1000 Explorer radio mics.

Student Room

As well as a place for you to relax and unwind, our student room has access to streaming services and a Blu-Ray player so you can gain inspiration from classic & modern films.

Cantina

A dining space open to all students to eat, grab a snack and get settled in.

Library

Home to books and an extensive film collection. Here our Mac computers have EP Budgeting & Scheduling and Final Draft as well as printing facilities.
