LFA joins ARRI Certified Film School Program

23 July 2025

London Film Academy is delighted to announce that we have been recognised as an ARRI Certified Film School, one of only 34 film schools in the world recognised by the ARRI Certified Film School Program.

LFA staff and students have been longtime users of ARRI cameras, and we will now be able to formalise this strong relationship through issuing official ARRI certificates to students.

This recognition is the net result of an extensive application process, which was championed by not only LFA staff but also students, who have regularly used ARRI cameras in realising their creative and striking film work.

Accreditation process

LFA’s catalogue of ARRI digital cameras includes the ARRI ALEXA Mini, the ARRI ALEXA Classic, the ARRI ALEXA Plus and the ARRI AMIRA.

Khairul Amin, Senior Technical Coordinator, stated that this accreditation was a natural next step:

ARRI is a world-leading film equipment manufacturer, and London Film Academy has had a long history of running our film courses with their industry-leading cameras, lights and accessories. It made sense for us then to apply for ARRI's Certified Film School Program, giving us access to their vast array of educational resources and supporting materials that the tutors can utilise for classes and coursework.

Kieran Nagi, Head of Operations expressed excitement that the long-running efforts of LFA’s different teams have reaped dividends:

Working with the equipment, courses teams and the Joint Principals to make this ARRI accreditation a reality was something we’d wanted to make happen for a long time. Bringing this additional layer of prestige to LFA was important to us, and we’re so pleased to finally see it realised.

Student impact

Kieran added that this recognition from ARRI should serve as an invaluable benefit for students in their post-LFA careers:

As we look to our upcoming cohorts of BA and MA students, we hope that this recognition from one of the world’s greatest and most recognised camera makers serves as an additional incentive to throw yourself into everything that LFA has to offer.

Lincoln Ascott, who has been running the Filmmaking Certificate at LFA for more than 15 years, shares Kieran’s enthusiasm for the accreditation’s benefits, adding:

The students will now have access to huge resources from ARRI, which allows them to have the latest blogs, information and a host of educational and technical knowledge at their fingertips. Not only on the course, but also when they leave.

Alongside this recognition comes the news that students on LFA’s Filmmaking Certificate will now be able to use the ARRI ALEXA Mini, alongside the BA (Hons) Filmmaking programme.
