London Film Academy (LFA) is delighted to announce an exciting enhancement to its MA Programmes, with the introduction of a 6–8 week industry work placement designed to give students valuable professional experience before graduation.

Launching for incoming cohorts, this new initiative marks a significant step forward in LFA's commitment to preparing students for successful careers across the film and creative industries. By combining advanced academic study with meaningful industry engagement, students will graduate not only with a Master's degree, but with practical professional experience that strengthens their confidence, networks, and employability.
At LFA, industry employability has always been at the heart of the student experience. This latest development further bridges the gap between education and employment, providing students with the opportunity to apply their skills and knowledge in real-world professional environments.
The work placement is undertaken during Module Three: Research by Practice, allowing students to build upon the creative, technical, and collaborative skills developed throughout the programme. Whether aspiring to careers in production, screenwriting, development, post-production, screen industries, or wider creative sectors, students will gain first-hand insight into professional working practices and expectations.
Students will be responsible for sourcing their own placement opportunities, which will be subject to approval by the Module Leader. This ensures students are prepared to balance professional commitments alongside their studies, while also securing opportunities that align with their individual career ambitions and development goals.
In addition to gaining practical experience, students will benefit from expanding their professional networks, developing a deeper understanding of industry workflows, and enhancing their CVs with relevant workplace expertise. These are increasingly valuable assets for graduates entering a competitive and evolving creative sector.
This exciting addition to the MA Programmes reinforces LFA's mission to develop creative talent, nurture industry-ready graduates, and empower students to take the next step in their filmmaking careers with confidence.
