LFA Alumni Katy Trevor to Begin Filming ‘Friday is Mushroom Soup’ This November

14 October 2024

London Film Academy is thrilled to announce that alumni Katy Trevor, who was awarded the Emerging Filmmaker Award in 2023, at the Annual Showcase celebrating the completion of her MA in Screenwriting, is set to start production on her new film 'Friday is Mushroom Soup' this November.

The film is made possible by the kit hire prize Katy won from Focus Canning as part of her award.

Katy's project is being produced by fellow LFA alumni, Gus and Oscar, who graduated with a BA in Filmmaking in 2023. They have established their own production company and are now bringing this ambitious and socially impactful project to life under Jacco Macacco Films

We are really excited about the film’s potential as a powerful social commentary. It’s a deeply personal exploration of the challenges social carers face in the UK today. We hope to highlight the incredible work they do, even while operating in a system that often feels broken.

The team has launched a Kickstarter campaign to support the project and bring their creative vision to full fruition. The funds raised will enhance the film’s production quality, ensuring its important message resonates with audiences.

Katy and her team hope for widespread support from the filmmaking community and beyond.

LFA is proud to support our alumni on their journey and is excited to see how ‘Friday is Mushroom Soup’ unfolds.
