This year, London Film Academy hosted a vibrant Diwali celebration, bringing together students from across the globe to honour one of India’s most beloved festivals.
With Diwali spanning nearly a week of festivities in India, we aimed to recreate the warmth and joy of home for our Indian students and introduce others to the festival’s spirited traditions.
The celebration featured a screening of the popular film ‘English Vinglish’, capturing the essence of home and family connections that resonate deeply with those studying abroad.
LFA was decorated with traditional Diwali decor, setting the perfect festive backdrop and students enjoyed a spread of iconic Indian treats, including pani puri and samosas, adding an authentic touch to the evening.
Many students wore traditional attire and danced to Bollywood hits, creating a lively atmosphere that bridged cultural distances.
At LFA, fostering an inclusive environment is a priority and we love celebrating our international students and giving them the space and support needed. Events like Diwali allow everyone to come together, experience new cultures, and build a truly global community.
Thank you to MA Filmmaking student Udbhavi Upadhyay for sharing the fantastic images and more about Diwali.
This celebration reminded us that, despite geographical distances, the spirit of festivals can unite people from all walks of life.
