Students begin their journey into filmmaking at LFA and continue with the support of LFA Filmmaker's Club (previously Club Panico@LFA), our networking group for emerging filmmakers. As part of LFA’s ongoing effort to increase employment opportunities we integrated like-minded filmmaking organisation ‘Panico’, into LFA in 2006. The Club was founded in 1992 with the help of the Monty Python team, Panavision and Technicolour and the mantra to provide a stepping-stone to the industry for members. Panico’s patrons are some of the most respected names in the industry, including: Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones and Sir Ben Kingsley (between them they boast an impressive list of credits: ‘Time Bandits’, ‘Monty Python’s Life of Brian’, ‘Gandhi’, ‘Twelve Monkeys’, ‘Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas’ and ‘Schindler’s List’).
LFA Filmmaker's Club fosters independent filmmaking, serves as knowledge base for its members and is designed to support students by: developing their knowledge and experience via regular talks and workshops with current industry professionals; equipping them with necessary resources such as production advice to create their own projects, and helping them find work.
LFA Filmmaker's Club is a club for emerging filmmakers and an aftercare service supported by LFA. Membership is open to LFA graduates.

Graduate Support through LFA Filmmaker's Club
All of LFA students receive a complimentary membership to the Club whilst on their course (and one month after the course), enabling them to meet other filmmakers at our Club events, attend free workshops and talks by working professionals, make use of our targeted jobs list and access reliable crew members for their productions.
At the end of the course graduates are invited to become full members of the Club at a nominal fee so we can continue getting support for their filmmaking. This provides access to our production facilities, Club discounts with suppliers and reductions on our specialised courses.
LFA Filmmaker's Club membership benefits:
LFA Filmmaker's Club Events
Events are held at London Film Academy and other venues across London and are open to all members. It is a great opportunity to meet other filmmakers, build up contacts, talk about your projects and find enthusiastic crew for your films. We also hold monthly workshops and screenings with industry professionals, designed to provide you with relevant information and training for finding work in the industry and making independent films.
Finding work in the film and TV industry is notoriously difficult. When it comes to working in such a competitive industry where jobs are often advertised by word of mouth alone, practical, hands-on experience and a network of professional contacts is key.
Our courses give you a solid foundation of practical skill and knowledge and LFA Filmmaker's Club aims to look after you when you leave by providing further experience, a solid contact base and job opportunities.
We have an exclusive jobs list on our members-only website with details of paid and unpaid work. Levels range from running and work experience to full time work with production companies, facilities companies and TV channels within a variety of disciplines such as producers, camera operators and editors.
Members also advertise on the site for crews for their own productions knowing they will find experienced, enthusiastic people they can trust.
Over the years we have earned a good reputation with production companies and the working professionals who teach on our courses, many of whom contact us directly knowing we can recommend professional crew and trainees.
