COURSE OVERVIEW

Duration: 1 week

This exciting, multi-disciplinary course is designed to provide 13-17 year olds with a fun-filled but thorough grounding in the various roles, from screenwriting and directing to cinematography, sound and editing.

Successful filmmaking is a team effort, so our young filmmakers will work in small groups with their peers in a studio environment where they can explore the whole production process, under the guidance and supervision of current industry professionals. They will learn to combine technical skills with visual communication and narrative storytelling, developing a story into a script and then shooting on iPhones directing professional actors.

An experienced editor will guide them through editing films using Final Cut Pro and the finished film will be screened to family and friends at a celebratory screening in the LFA Cinema.

All participants leave with the skills and confidence to continue filmmaking using their own smart phones.
