This intensive short course is the only one of its kind to provide the opportunity to shoot on either Super 16mm film (‘Carol’, ‘The Hurt Locker’, ‘City of God’) or the professional standard digital camera, the Arri Alexa. In four weeks, you will take a film project from script to screen, gaining a comprehensive and invaluable grounding in the essential filmmaking principles and learn the cutting edge skills that equip you for an entry-level job in film or TV.

Ideal for people new to filmmaking, this intensive and inspiring short course offers students a broad and invaluable grounding in the basic filmmaking principles. You will learn a range of industry relevant skills from working film and TV professionals and get the opportunity to take a project from script to shooting to finished film.
Working in small groups, you will produce a number of non-sync short films, shooting on Arriflex Super 16mm camera equipment, or digitally using the industry standard Arri Alexa. No other four-week film course in London gives you the opportunity to learn using this equipment.
The Arri Alexa camera has been used to shoot films such as 'Wolf of Wall Street', 'Rush', 'Paddington', 'Skyfall' & 'World War Z'.
Films shot on super 16mm film include, ‘Carol’, ‘City of God’, ‘The Hurt Locker’, ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ and ‘Black Swan’.
Our course tutors have extensive industry experience and include award-winning directors and producers.
Small class sizes mean that all students get the opportunities to pose questions to students, seek advice about the industry and build an understanding of their next steps in the industry.

As the Filmmaking Certificate course is under 30 days, most visitors to the UK from outside of the EEA (non-EU countries) will be able to join the course on a Standard Tourist Visa (as long as studying is not the main purpose of your visit). Alternatively, international students from outside the EEA (non-EU countries) should obtain a Short-Term Study Visa to enter the UK.
